Singapore Medical Group names Tony Tan Choon Keat as non-executive chairman
He was the founding managing director of Parkway Holdings.
Singapore Medical Group announced the appointment of Tony Tan Choon Keat as non-executive chairman.
Mr Tan, 64, has vast experience in the healthcare industry. He was the founding managing director of Parkway Holdings, and he held such position until 2000. He then became the vice chairman of Parkway Holdings Limited and held this position until he sold his shares in 2005. During his service, he initiated acquisitions and development by Parkway Holdings both in Singapore and overseas to build up its healthcare franchise from initially a property developer to one of the largest healthcare providers in Asia.
Mr Tan currently is the chairman and a major shareholder of Island Hospital Holdings in Malaysia and sits on the board of IGB Corporation Berhad. He was also previously a director and a major shareholder of Napier Properties, according to a Singapore Medical Group report.
