9 in 10 Singapore business travellers willing to share data with companies or apps
Meanwhile, this figure dipped for leisure travellers wherein 87% are open to data sharing.
91% of Singaporean business travellers are extremely or somewhat willing to share information about their travel preferences with travel companies or apps, and 97% said they would share it with those who help facilitate their travel, when travelling for business, travel management platform CWT revealed.
The results for Singapore are closely in line with the global results which showed that nine out of 10 (89%) travellers are “extremely” or “somewhat” willing to share their information.
However, Singaporean leisure travellers are less open to data sharing, as 87% said they were extremely or somewhat willing to share information, whilst 94% said they would share it with their travel facilitator. This is contrary to the global results where CWT found that travellers make little distinction between the two, at least when it comes to sharing information on their personal preferences.
In terms of travel preferences, the study found that 52% of Singaporeans want a seat by the window over a seat on the aisle. In the Asia Pacific, 71% of travellers prefer the window seats.
The survey also revealed that a narrow majority of business travellers globally would prefer to miss their flight rather than be separated from their luggage. Of the Singapore travellers surveyed, 51% said they would rather miss a flight than have their luggage misplaced.
When it comes to ground transportation, 54% of travellers still prefer traditional taxis over ride-sharing services like Lyft or Uber. Singapore respondents, too, leaned slightly towards taxis, with 55% saying they prefer this option to ride-sharing services.
