WDA sets up new CET centre to boost tourism sector

The integrated CET Centre for Tourism aims to deliver 2,000 training places annually for the tourism workforce in Singapore.

According to the Ministry of Manpower, this latest collaboration with William Angliss Institute aims to raise the skills level of Singapore's workforce.

Tourism arrivals and receipts in Singapore have reached their highest in ten years. Singapore is also seeing a sharp increase in tourism investments.

The Centre will inject new ideas and concepts in training methodology and delivery approaches.

Besides offering new cross-sectoral courses in areas such as Resort Management and Water Recreation, the Centre will also provide new progression pathways for tourism professionals and workers to upgrade themselves. It will offer Workforce Skills Qualification training courses for different tourism subsectors across all levels from Certificate to Diploma. Professionals, Managers and Executives in the sector will benefit from new offerings such as Professional Development Courses and Specialist Diploma programmes.
