2 in 5 Singaporeans bit by the travel bug
Encouraged by vaccinations, more Singaporeans plan to travel in the next three months.
Approximately two in five, or 44% of Singaporean adults plan to travel in the next three months, according to the latest Finder’s Travel Index.
This is much higher than the 20% recorded in its June survey.
A third of Singaporeans (34%) plan to travel domestically, up from 12% from the last survey, whilst 21% plan to travel internationally, up 10% from the last survey.
“We’ve seen a monumental jump in the percentage of Singaporeans interested in travel over the past month, with the number of people planning short-term travel more than doubling from June to July. It’s likely this is in part due to the recent ‘Test, Trace, and Vaccinate’ campaign for Singapore’s shift to a new normal,” said Finder’s global editor-at-large Angus Kidman in a press statement.
However, Kidman added that Singaporeans might have to hold back on their travel plans as tightened restrictions are expected to stay until mid-August.
