Asia Pacific travellers pick SG as their top travel destination
Travellers cite low COVID restrictions as a key factor for choosing Singapore.
Singapore was selected as the top travel destination by Asia Pacific travellers, a Visa study has revealed.
Based on the Visa Road to Travel Recovery, travellers in eight of 14 countries picked Singapore as the top country they wish to visit in the Asia Pacific because of its accessibility and low COVID restrictions.
“We are seeing more travellers coming into Singapore, since the easing of travel restrictions by countries all over the world,” Visa said.
Singaporeans, on the other hand, are planning to visit Australia, Thailand, and the United States in the next 12 months.
According to the study, Singaporeans consider whether a destination is quarantine-free (39%) when selecting a destination.
Other things they consider are flexibility in travel plans (48%) and receiving a free COVID-19 detection test before travelling (44%).
