Co-living train hotel to debut at one-north
The train hotel will be at the car park next to Block 69 Ayer Rajah Crescent.
Singapore will introduce a new hospitality concept by transforming decommissioned SMRT’s train carriages into a boutique co-living hotel.
JTC will support the pilot of the first co-living train hotel developed by Tiny Pod, the LaunchPad @ one-north.
LaunchPad @ one-north will have eight rooms equipped with an attached bathroom.
In the driver’s compartment, LCD panels will show footage depicting the train’s earlier journey through the tunnel, creating an immersive experience for guests.
Renovation work on the train commenced in March, with operations slated to begin in September.
Beside the co-living train hotel, there will be a public recreational green space.
“Integrated with food and beverage vending machines and bicycle racks, this new amenity node will also incorporate repurposed train chairs as outdoor public benches,” the parties said.
LaunchPad @ one-north is an extension to Tiny Pod’s pop-up shipping container hotel at LaunchPad @ one-north, launched in 2020.
