Hilton hotel Singapore goes green with MSC sustainable seafood program

Hilton chef Vincent Kho demonstrates handling of MSC sustainable toothfish.

After a successful inaugural run last year, the Sustainable Seafood Business Forum (SSBF), organized by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), is back for its second edition at Hilton Singapore. The SSBF brought together today key stakeholders in the seafood industry with aims to move the conversation of sustainable seafood in Singapore forward. Themed Catch of Tomorrow, the Forum hosted a panel of distinguished speakers before a sustainable seafood buffet lunch and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Hilton Singapore’s MSC-certified kitchen.
By bringing together key players in the seafood industry, including suppliers, retailers, government bodies, and non-profit organizations, this B2B event provided critical links and insights into a new - and fast-growing - focus of sustainable food.

Exclusive kitchen tours
In a bid to encourage transparency around the sustainable seafood conversation, Hilton Singapore opened its kitchen doors to Forum participants. Participants were able to understand the operations of a MSC-certified kitchen and experience traceability at work.
