MICE industry to see robust recovery: STB
A full recovery is expected in two to three years.
The Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is expected to have a strong recovery, the Singapore Tourism Board said.
This will be driven by the city's reopening, with no quarantine and testing requirements, to fully-vaccinated visitors.
A full recovery is expected in two to three years, following a strong pipeline of events from 2022 onwards.
With Singapore hosted over 150 events, attended by 37,000 delegates in the first three months of 2022. At least 66 international events are expected to be held for the rest of the year, which would bring the total higher than the 200 events hosted last year.
“The business community is eager for opportunities to meet and network in-person again. This desire, as well as the recent easing of our border restrictions, puts the MICE industry in good stead to recover strongly,” said STB Deputy Chief Executive Yap Chin Siang in a press statement.
