Pale local activities are no problem for multi-faceted Frasers Hospitality

Reaping time has come for its overseas activities.

The AEI at Intercontinental Singapore has been shaking up Frasers Hospitality Trust’s local activities, with 84 rooms being taken out on average.

This has also been aggravated by a dimmer Malaysia performance, overshadowed by the three aviation tragedies and weak corporate demand from the lacklustre oil and gas segment.

According to analysts from UOB Kay Hian, however, the hospitality company has been anything but shaken up by these setbacks, as the weakness in both countries has been propped up by growth in its Japan, Australia and UK businesses.

“ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe beat IPO RevPAR estimates by 19.2% (NPI by 17%), as Japan saw a wave of international tourist arrivals in 8M15, increasing 49.1% yoy to reach over 12.9m visitors,” UOB Kay Hian said.

“Australia and the UK also beat NPI IPO estimates by 25% and 22% respectively,” UOB Kay Hian added.
