SIA Changi Airport lounges receive $50m makeover

Renovations will increase total customer capacity by 30%.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will invest more than $50m for the renovation of its Changi Airport Terminal 3 lounges.

Planned renovations to the SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges will increase space and total customer capacity by 30%. Upgrades to the KrisFlyer Gold lounge will double its overall capacity, SIA said.

Additionally, first class passengers will enjoy a private bar at The First Class Lounge, whilst suites’ passengers will be offered a full-service fine dining experience at The Private Room.

The country’s flagship carrier also highlighted plans to expand the Business Class Lounge to feature a café, a dining hall, a full-service bar, productivity pods for work, and a rest area for sleeping.

SIA commissioned hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates to redesign the lounges.

Customers will have access to temporary lounges until renovations are completed in mid-2021.
