Singapore ranks 8th most searched destination for Valentine’s Day: Agoda
The city-state trails behind other major Asian countries.
Singapore ranked eighth as the most popular destination for couples looking for a Valentine’s Day getaway this year, according to travel trends collated by digital travel platform Agoda.
Data from Agoda showed Asian cities dominated the top ten most searched international destinations for couples on 14 February, eight of which being cosmopolitan hubs.
“The diversity in this year's top searched destinations highlights the broad spectrum of experiences couples are seeking,” Andrew Smith, senior vice president of supply at Agoda, said.
Singapore ranks behind Phuket, Thailand, in the seventh spot, but is still higher than Fukuoka, Japan (9th) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (10th).
Bangkok topped the list as being the most searched international destination, followed by Tokyo and Osaka in second and third place, respectively. Seoul, (4th) Hong Kong (5th) and Bali (6th) follow.
Agoda noted that this year’s list reflects interest in “exploring dynamic urban environments” but still maintains the appeal of tropical destinations with the inclusion of Bali.
“This trend suggests that quality time can come in many forms, with couples looking for a mix of adventure, culture, relaxation, and culinary delights,” Agoda stated.
