
Is Singapore still the best place for expats?
3 in 5 expats said it is as a good place for career advancement.
The city-state remains the top destination for expats globally, as 62% of the immigrants believe that Singapore is where their careers could further progress.
According to the latest Expat Explorer survey commissioned by HSBC, more expats in Singapore has been seeing the advantages of residing in the city-state.
"More than three in five expats in Singapore said it is a good place to progress their career, with the same proportion seeing their earnings rise after moving to the country,” the report said.
The report pointed out that the average annual income for expats in Singapore is $190,000, much higher than the global average of $133,000.
"Nearly a quarter (23%) earn more than S$273,000, more than twice the global expat average of 11%," HSBC clarified.
Overall, 66% of expats agreed that the Lion City offers a better quality of life than their home country, with three in four claiming that the quality of education in Singapore is better than their home countries.
