Singaporeans urged to apply for passports ahead of June school holiday rush
Here are peak days to avoid when applying.
According to a release, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) reminded the public to ensure that their passports have at least six months’ validity on the day they plan to leave Singapore in light of the approaching June school holiday.
If the expiry date is approaching, ICA encourages the public to apply for a new passport soon.
Singapore citizens submitting their passport applications online, by post, deposit box or via the eLobby@ICA are entitled to a $10 rebate and will only pay $70 instead of $80 for the passport.
Where possible, Singaporeans are advised to avoid coming to the ICA Building for passport services during the busy periods, i.e. on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, school holidays, the eve of public holidays and the day after.
