Travel corridor between Singapore and Indonesia underway

Singaporeans may visit Batam Nongsa and Bintan Lagoi in April.

The Indonesian government is considering opening a travel corridor between Singapore, Batam Nongsa and Bintan Lagoi on 21 April.

Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno met with officials in Batam and proposed a safe travel corridor between Nongsa in Batam and Lagoi in Bintan, popular travel destinations for Singaporeans.

Uno said that there is a direct route via ferry that connects Singapore and Batam.

Tourists who enter the two areas will be expected to have a negative polymerase chain reaction test result. They will also be required to take the COVID-19 breath test detector, GeNose, upon arrival.

The tourism minister said the Indonesian government also plans to launch an application that can not only trace but track the movement of tourists.
