Trip.com forecasts strong F1 Singapore GP attendance with booking surge
Total booking volume for this year’s race week rose 60% compared to last year.
Trip.com expects a “healthy growth” in Formula One (F1) Singapore Grand Prix attendance numbers this year, with bookings surging during the race week from 16 to 22 September.
According to Edmund Ong, General Manager of Trip.com Singapore, Trip.com’s total booking volume for all products during this year’s F1 race week has increased by 60% compared to last year, with inbound flight bookings surging by nearly 90%.
"Perhaps unsurprisingly, we see more males making bookings for the F1 week period (47%) compared to the weeks immediately before (46%) and after (43%). However, we believe interest in F1 is increasing among women – bookings made by females for last year’s F1 week stood at 49%, compared to this year’s 53%,” Ong added.
The F1 Singapore Grand Prix, which began in 2008, takes place at the Marina Bay Circuit and is the only night race amongst all F1 Grand Prix events.
