Pan Pacific Hotels names David Donald General Manager of PARKROYAL Parramatta
Donald’s strong operations background, his knowledge of the property and of Parramatta earned him the position.
After recently announcing the return of its PARKROYAL brand to Australia, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed David Donald as General Manager of PARKROYAL Parramatta, according to a Pan Pacific Hotels report.
With 15 years of experience in hotel management, David has been General Manager of the hotel since October 2009 and will continue leading the team at Parramatta after the hotel’s rebrand to PARKROYAL Parramatta (from Crowne Plaza Parramatta). The hotel boasts 196 rooms in the city centre in the heart of Parramatta’s trendy Church Street, a popular dining and shopping precinct on the banks of Parramatta River.
David’s experience includes roles as General Manager Holiday Inn Adelaide, and Crowne Plaza Canberra & National Convention Centre. In addition, David has a close affinity with the PARKROYAL brand, having spent time in operations, revenue and rooms division roles across several PARKROYAL properties in Sydney and New Zealand before the brand left Australia.
“It is great to have David onboard. David’s strong operations background, his knowledge of this particular property and of Parramatta will make a real difference in the success of the hotel,” said Pan Pacific Hotels Group President and CEO A. Patrick Imbardelli. “That he is connected with the PARKROYAL brand in his early career – we couldn’t ask for more in the leadership of this great hotel for us.”
As well as PARKROYAL Parramatta, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has opened PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney (rebranded from Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour).
The two Sydney hotels mark the beginning of Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s expansion into Australia, with a third hotel, Pan Pacific Perth (rebranded from Sheraton Perth), opening in January next year.
