Who are the most active tech investors from Singapore in the tech space?
Local tech startups raised US$1.2b in 1H23.
Singapore took the lion’s share of tech funding in Southeast Asia with local startups raising US$1.2b in 1H23, data from Tracxn showed.
According to Tracxn’s report, Singaporean venture capital (VC) firms were also amongst the most active investors in Southeast Asia tech startups in 1H23.
Seed
Cocoon Capital (3rd), 1982 Ventures (5th), and Saison Capital (8th) were the most active VCs in terms of Seed funding.
Cocoon Capital invested in 40 startups in 1H23 and of which, four were tech startups from SEA.
1982 Ventures also invested in four tech startups from SEA, whilst Saison Capital invested in three SEA tech startups.
Early Stage
In terms of Early Stage funding, the most active investors in Singapore were Openspace Ventures (5th), Integra Partners (7th), and Qualgro (10th).
Openspace Ventures invested in 50 startups in 1H23 and of which, two were tech startups from SEA. Integra Partners and Qualgro also invested in two SEA tech startups in 1H23.
Late Stage
Asia Partners (4th) and EDBI (8th) were the most active investors in terms of Late Stage funding.
One of EDBI’s notable investments in the SEA tech space over the past few years was Singapore-based InsureTech, Bolttech.
Bolttech ranked third amongst tech startups which had the largest funding in SEA for 1H23, raising US$196m.
Private Equity
Singapore-based Northstar Group was the most active private equity (PE) firm in the SEA tech space, investing in four startups in 1H23.
Southern Capital (9th) was also amongst the most active PE firm for 1H23.
