Great Eastern backs Singapore government’s pre-planning advocacy
Nine in 10 Singaporeans view planning for end-of-life matters as a necessity.
Great Eastern has joined the Pre-Planning Campaign of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Public Service Division, becoming the first insurer to do so.
As a partner of the initiative, Great Eastern will drive pre-planning through MyLegacy@LifeSG (MyLegacy), the integrated digital platform for Singaporeans to plan for end-of-life matters.
MyLegacy offers services such as Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), Advance Medical Directive (AMD) and Advance Care Planning (ACP).
The insurer said LPA is an important document for taking ownership of pre-planning for old age, whilst ACP can help individuals communicate to their loved ones and healthcare team about their personal beliefs, values and how they wish to be cared for.
To promote the government initiative, Great Eastern will offer complimentary certification clinics to help Singaporeans with their LPA and AMD applications through selected Great Eastern Financial Representatives.
Application fees payable to MSF is waived by MSF for Singaporeans till 31 March 2026. Certification fees payable to certificate issuers (for e.g. doctors or lawyers) is waived through Great Eastern program.
