Income Insurance launches first hourly travel coverage
The product replaces the previous version, which was limited to Bintan, Batam, and Malaysia.
Income Insurance has introduced FlexiTravel Plus, allowing travellers to extend protection by the hour for trips to 19 Asian destinations.
This is Singapore’s “first and only” travel insurance to do so, according to the media release.
The product replaces the previous FlexiTravel Hourly Insurance, which was limited to Bintan, Batam, and Malaysia.
FlexiTravel Plus starts at $1.80 for a six-hour block and can be extended at $0.30 per additional hour, with a daily cap of $3. For example, a three-day and two-night trip to Thailand would cost a maximum of $9.
The product includes coverage for trip disruptions, travel delays, loss of electronic devices, and medical emergencies. Additionally, there is an option to add coverage for sports equipment like golf clubs or surfboards.
Income Insurance has also introduced a post-departure purchase feature, allowing travellers to buy conventional travel insurance online up to a day after leaving Singapore.
FlexiTravel Plus can be purchased within 8 hours of departure for a minimum coverage period of 24 hours.
Furthermore, Income’s Enhanced PreX Annual Travel Insurance now offers an overseas telemedicine service for policyholders with pre-existing conditions, providing 24/7 access to a doctor for non-emergency cases.
