West Meets East Bonsai Arrangement to kick off at Caffé B
The renowned landscape designer Mr Kazuyuki Ishihara will host the event on 30 October.
In a release, Caffé B announced its collaboration with award-winning landscape designer Mr Kazuyuki Ishihara to host its inaugural West Meets East Bonsai Arrangement.
Happening on Tuesday, 30 October 2012, two sessions – 11am to 2pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm – have been scheduled for the charming event, which uniquely combines a lesson in traditional flower arrangement with an indulgent lunch or tea time set.
Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement also known as kadō, is a tranquil ritual that offers practitioners the time to appreciate the core aesthetic of flowers while guiding them towards illuminating their natural beauty.Participants will be first treated to a live demonstration before having the opportunity to try their hand at the delicate art, under the expert instruction and guidance of Mr Ishihara.
After the round of activity, guests will be invited to luxuriate in the comfort of the restaurant while enjoying a specially prepared set meal that showcases the innovative simplicity, premium quality and aesthetic artfulness of Caffé B’s cuisine.

Renowned for his vision, Mr Ishihara is one of the most talented and recognised landscape designers throughout Asia, having elevated floral and landscape design to an art form.
The 54 year-old Nagasaki native embarked on an illustrious career in Japanese floral arrangement at the age of 23. Inspired by classic English-style gardens, he later moved into landscape design and has since been accorded various prominent accolades.
At the recent prestigious Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show 2012, he was awarded a gold medal for Best Artisan Garden with his entry Satoyama Life, a masterpiece which breathtakingly captures the ‘rural idyll’ of a close and gentle relationship with nature.
His bevy of other accomplishments in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show over the years include the 2008 gold medal for Best Urban Garden, 2007 gold medal for Best City Garden and 2006 gold medal for Best Chic Garden. In the local Singapore Garden Festival 2008, Mr Ishihara was awarded a gold medal for Best Landscape.
