iFly Singapore to expand into Singapore education sector with indoor skydiving
Application to conduct Sports Education Programme.
iFly Singapore announced that it plans to start expanding into Singapore’s education sector through their application to conduct a Sports Education Programme.
This would allow indoor skydiving to become more accessible to students between 7 and 16 years old, and open doors to the exhilarating experience of skydiving without the high cost and risks involved with outdoor skydiving, the company said.
Students taking modules under this proposed programme will have the opportunity to learn the science behind the functionality of the wind tunnel, and become technically proficient with the sport, it added.
Already, Dunman High, Greendale Secondary, Telok Kurau Primary and Radin Mas Primary schools have had the chance to experience the iFly Singapore Education Tour.
Along with the planned outreach to schools, iFly Singapore has also scheduled the launch of its Membership Programme early next year, providing a more attractive package for regular flyers who are considering taking on the sport more seriously or for overseas based flyers who regularly visit iFly Singapore for training purposes. Proflyers currently account for $1.2 million of the firm's annual revenue.
The two available proFLYER packages have been designed to transit the novice indoor skydiver to a competent flyer through a series of step-by-step training sessions led by iFly Singapore’s flight instructors certified by the International Bodyflight Association (IBA). iFly Singapore members stand to save up to S$3,100 when compared to the rates that a proflyer would normally pay for 40 skydives.
