SIMF launches S$100M media content production fund
Asian media companies need to get local businesses to help in projects to qualify.
A new S$100 million fund for Asian media companies to create cross-platform content and productions has been made available by SIMF Management, a media financing tie-up between Singapore’s Media Development Authority (MDA) and Hong Kong's Salon Films Group.
Funding is for projects to produce content like Asian-made films, TV series, animation and computer games that can be adapted to suit platforms across mediums like film, television, computer games and mobile phones.
SIMF is calling for proposals from regional media companies and aims to approve three to five projects costing S$3 million to S$20 million by the end of 2010. Applicants must get Singapore companies to help in their projects in order to qualify for the funding.
