
80,000 expected at Marina Bay waterfront promenade's opening
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the opening event on 17 and 18 July to be organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).
More than 80,000 visitors are expected to attend the games and water activities, and watch the performances at the inaugural of Carnival@Marina Bay.
Prime Minister Lee will flag off The New Paper Big Walk@Marina Bay at 7.30am on Sunday.
Various events and activities will be held at different locations around Marina Bay, including The Promontory@Marina Bay, the waterfront promenade along Marina Boulevard, and in the waters of Marina Bay.
“The Big Carnival@Marina Bay serves as a fun way to introduce everyone to the attractions along the Marina Bay waterfront promenade. With the new waterfront promenade officially opened and now fully accessible to the public, the Carnival will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone to experience the Bay by the water’s edge and appreciate Marina Bay as a new leisure destination in the city. Everyone’s invited!” said Mrs Cheong Koon Hean, URA’s chief executive officer.
Admission to the Carnival is free.
