Games fuel mobile spending in Singapore

Singaporeans spent over US$100m on mobile games in 3Q23 alone.

Mobile games drove the increase in Singaporean consumers' mobile app spending in 3Q23, data.ai reported.

According to data.ai, games make up the majority of consumer’s mobile spending in Singapore, totalling over USD$100 million in Q3 alone.

In 3Q22, mobile games spending was at US$97.43m.

"This is almost twice as much as spent for apps outside of gaming, which totalled just over USD$50 million," data.ai reported.

The mobile gaming spending figure, however, is in contracts to the total number of downloads, where download numbers for gaming apps were just about 18 million.

In 3Q22, there were 20.7 million downloads for mobile games in Singapore.

The top downloaded mobile game in Singapore is "Monopoly GO: Family Board Game," "Free Fire," and "Royal Match."

"Monopoly GO: Family Board Game" also topped the list of mobile games in terms of consumer spending, climbing 11 spots in the ranking.

"Maple Story" ranked second, followed by "Mobile Legends: Bang Bang."
