Singapore chosen as first city outside London to host Bloomberg Square Mile Relay
Teams of 10 runners will race a one-mile course.
Singapore will mark the first leg of the international expansion of Square Mile Relay, an event that was first staged in 2007 in London, and has since been attracting more than 100 teams every year.
It will make its local debut in Singapore on Thursday, 24 October 2013 with teams of 10 runners racing an unconventional one-mile course through the Central Business District.
The winning team will be awarded a S$10,000 cheque to be awarded to charity.
"The choice of Singapore as the next stop for the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay was a logical one and underscores our commitment to the region. It's also a way for us to show our gratitude and give back to the community," said Nitin Jaiswal, Bloomberg's Head of Sales for ASEAN and India.
