Callum Laing is a oartner at The Unity Group Private Equity. He is the co-founder of The Marketing Group PLC and has built numerous other businesses over a 20 year entrepreneurial career.
He is the best selling author behind 'Progressive Partnerships' and 'Agglomerate - Idea to IPO in 12 months' a book he co-wrote with his business partner Jeremy Harbour.
He has been infor Asia 15 years and lives here with his wife and two young daughters.
What are your previous experiences and positions held that contributed to who you are as an entrepreneur today?
I started my first business selling homemade ice cream to bars and restaurants when I was just a kid. From there I have started and built more than 6 businesses in 2 continents. Whilst a Partner in the Private Equity company Unity-Group, I co-founded and listed The Marketing Group PLC.
I have also helped other businesses launch successfully into Asia such as Dent with their 'Key Person of Influence' program and have published my interviews with more than 500 Entrepreneurs and business leaders in Asia.
What are your key business philosophies?
Build Assets in your business, leverage it through Partnerships and use acquisitions to expand and exit.
Almost anything is achievable with the right partners. The way to attract and retain the right partners is to significantly over deliver on value.
