Singapore traders more risk-averse than global peers
2,200 traders exited the CFD/FX market post-Brexit.
Investment Trends has released the findings of its research into Singaporean traders’ behaviour and attitudes, drawn from their survey of over 13,000 Singaporean investors, in August 2016.
The analysis from the global research house found that Singaporeans were deterred from trading by the market volatility following Brexit, in stark contrast with traders in the UK – surveyed at a similar time – who reacted to the volatile markets by seizing opportunities to trade.
Consequently, the Singapore CFD/FX market shrank by 9% this year, falling from an estimated 24,500 to 22,300 traders.
The study also finds that Singaporean traders display the highest level of loyalty to their brokers among the eight international markets researched by Investment Trends.
