Sustainable SG: Singaporeans reveal top 3 sectors for green investments
More than half of local investors plan to increase investments due to improved market stability.
Singaporean investors plan to put more of their funds into green investments, particularly in renewable energy, Milieu Insight has found.
Based on Milieu Insight’s survey, seven in 10 investors in Singapore plan to invest in renewable energy, making it the top sector in the Lion City for green investments.
Investors in Singapore are also attracted to green transportation like electric vehicles (66%) and waste management like recycling facilities (56%).
Other industries which investors find attractive are water investments like water processing facilities (49%), alternative agriculture like sustainable farming (46%), and pollution control technology like catalytic converters (44%).
According to tot the survey, the driving force for investors to increase allocation in green investments are its positive environmental impact (72%), higher financial returns (61%), government incentives (58%), and improved market stability (52%),
