SGX adds Polaris Futures as trading member
It will participate in the derivatives market and will focus on Taiwan trades.
Polaris Futures is the first listed futures company in Taiwan and will help connect local investors to Asian issuers through SGX, the exchange said in a release announcing in the member induction.
“We are delighted that Polaris Futures has chosen to be a Trading Member in our derivatives market, supporting our customers in Taiwan by providing easy access to Asia via Singapore. With the continuing trend of increased volume of our Asian derivatives, we are not only seeing greater trading participation, but also strong interest in taking up SGX membership from broking firms in North Asia,” said Mr Chew Sutat, Head of Sales & Clients at SGX
With this newest addition, SGX now has 39 Trading Members in the derivatives market, up 26% from 31 members last year, with 37 Clearing Members. Meanwhile, its securities market now has 30 Trading Members and 29 Clearing Members, SGX noted.
