SGX delays removal of midday trading break

Full-day continuous trading won’t start until the third quarter to supposedly ensure investors are ready.

A Reuters report said the change in stockbroking practice will take place next month or in early August. “The midday break is being eliminated to let trading hours in Singapore overlap more with those of key centres like Tokyo, China and India,” said the report.

SGX is said to be likely to make an announcement within the week.
