Temasek buys minority stake in Irish drug tech startup Aerogen

Aerogen specialises in making and selling aerosol drug delivery systems.

Temasek has bought a minority stake in Irish drug delivery startup Aerogen through the purchase of a secondary share interest, an announcement revealed.

In addition, Temasek’s managing director of investment Abhijeet Lele will join Aerogen’s board of directors following the close of the transaction.

Aerogen specialises in the design, manufacture and commercialisation of aerosol drug delivery systems and has an international presence with offices in UK, Germany, US, Middle East and Asia.

Aerogen’s patented vibrating mesh technology turns liquid medication into a fine particle mist which is then delivered to its patients’ lungs in an effort to enhance outcomes and give healthcare professionals a higher level of control and confidence, the statement said.

“We are excited to realise the growth opportunities this collaboration will bring,” Aerogen’s founder and CEO John Power said. “Temasek, our partner of choice, has deep global and sector expertise which will accelerate our market penetration.”
