Elite REIT expands into UK living sector assets
The REIT will also change its name in due course as part of its expansion.
Elite Commercial REIT (Elite REIT) has expanded its investment strategy to include living sector assets in the United Kingdom, including student accommodation, build-to-rent residential, senior living, and social housing and other government housing.
The REIT said it will tap into the expertise of one of its sponsors, Sunway RE Capital which has been active in the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sector in the UK.
In a bourse filing, the REIT said expanding its investment strategy will promote growth and bring about diversification in asset class and tenancy.
The REIT said the move will also help unlock latent value of its portfolio of assets through proactive asset management.
As part of its broadened investment strategy, the REIT will be renamed Elite UK REIT "in due course" to reflect its expanded focus.
Whilst expanding its interests to additional asset sectors in the UK, the REIT said it will continue its focus on the social infrastructure asset sector, including its existing portfolio of Jobcentre Plus properties.
