James Dyson switches residency out of Singapore after two year stint

The $29b-worth billionaire now primarily lives in the UK, according to company filings.

James Dyson has switched his residency back to the UK from Singapore, reports Bloomberg, based on filings for companies the billionaire controls.

Dyson, 73, now primarily lives in the UK. Similar filings reportedly cited Singapore as his residence in 2019, shortly after his company said that it would move its head office in the Lion City as the maker of bagless vacuum cleaners focused increasingly on Southeast Asia.

He faced criticism from UK lawmakers for relocating his company—especially as he was known as a prominent Brexit supporter.

He is currently at the center of another controversy after he texted Prime Minister Boris Johnson in March 2020 to get assurance that his staff wouldn’t face a change in their tax situation if they came to the UK to help make ventilators in response to Covid-19, according to a BBC report.

Here’s more from Bloomberg.
