Market Update: STI up 0.06%

Sembcorp Industries saw the sharpest decline during Friday's trading, with a 2.32% drop.

The Straits Times Index ended 1.98 or 0.06% higher at 3,121.60 at the close of trading on Friday, June 25.

Among the top active stocks were Keppel Corp. which grew 5.68%, Venture which grew 1.57%, and SIA which grew 0.61%.

Included in the bottom performers were CapitaLand which fell 1.08% and UOL which fell 0.95%.

According to local news, the market was generally optimistic after investors saw the overnight gains on Wall Street.

The FTSE 100 Index ended 26.10 or 0.37% higher at 7,136.07, whilst the NYSE Composite Index ended 100.16 or 0.60% higher at 16,658.79 at the close of trading on Friday.
