Market Update: STI up 0.69%
Yangzijiang Shipbuilding saw the sharpest decline during Tuesday's trading, with a 2.06% drop.
The Straits Times Index ended 21.73 or 0.69% higher at 3,174.87 at the close of trading on Tuesday, June 15.
Among the top active stocks were SGX which grew 2.52%, Mapletree Logistics Trust which grew 1.98%, and Mapletree Industrial Trust which grew 1.81%.
Included in the bottom performers were SATS which fell 1.22% and Wilmar International which fell 1.05%.
According to local news, shares advanced after it was reported that private-sector economists further raised their outlook for Singapore's GDP to a growth of 6.5%. This is from the initial 5.8% forecast given last March.
The FTSE 100 Index ended 25.80 or 0.36% higher at 7.172.48, whilst the NYSE Composite Index ended 6.61 or 0.04% lower at 16,655.81 at the close of trading on Tuesday.
