Razer levels up green startups with US$50m fund

The war chest for sustainability startups will be managed by zVentures.

Gaming company Razer will be extending some $66.46m (US$50m) to sustainability startups under its Razer Green Fund, which kicked off with a seed investment to The Nurturing Co..

Razer Green Fund will be managed by its corporate ventures arm, zVentures. It will fund startups geared toward renewable energy, and carbon and plastic management.

The Razer Green Fund forms part of Razer’s 10-year sustainability roadmap under its #GoGreenWithRazerinitiative.

“Since the announcement of our 10-year sustainability roadmap, Razer has been inundated with requests on how startups can accelerate their own green initiatives,” Patricia Liu, Chief of Staff at Razer, said.

“The Razer Green Fund was set up to empower start-ups with positive intentions to further their ambitions.”

The roadmap outlined four key verticals of the company’s commitment for the environment’s protection and preservation.

For its first investment, Razer partnered with The Nurturing Co.’s for its sustainable toilet paper brand “Bambooloo.”

Through this, Bamboo toilet papers will be supplied in Razer’s head offices as well as new ones that will be opening in its Southeast Asian Headquarters.
