SATS signs MOU with polytechnics to boost talent pool
They will also establish a framework for knowledge exchange.
Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) has signed a multi-year collaborative agreement with all five polytechnics in Singapore to support a larger pool of work-ready graduates and facilitate bilateral knowledge sharing between the industry and the academe.
In a statement, SATS said the areas for collaboration with the polytechnics included student internships, post-internship skills-based career pathways and continuous education, award and scholarship support schemes, industry sharing and career talks, access to training equipment and facilities, and staff development.

Under the memorandum of understanding, SATS plan to double its acceptance of interns and expand the available roles to include the fields of food nutrition, sustainability, digitalisation, data analytics, and cybersecurity, amongst others, on top of airport operations.
Starting the academic year 2023/24, it will take in around 300 students from over 20 diploma courses on paid internships for up to six months.
The company will also develop a knowledge-exchange framework with the polytechnics for continuous professional development and lifelong employability for staff and faculty, which will include professional training and staff attachment programmes.
