
SGX lists BNP Paribas as its new derivatives trading member
Through its extended participation in the exchange, the financial company can provide global customers easy access to Asia.
Singapore Exchange (SGX) said BNP Paribas Securities (Singapore) has become a Trading Member of its derivatives market.
This adds to BNP Paribas Group's existing role as a Trading and Clearing Member of SGX’s securities market and Clearing Member of the derivatives market through BNP Paribas Securities (Singapore) and BNP Paribas Securities Services S.A, according to a Singapore Exchange report.
Mr Chew Sutat, Head of Sales & Clients at SGX said, “We are delighted that BNP Paribas has extended its participation in our markets by becoming a derivatives Trading Member With its new membership, BNP Paribas can provide more products and services to customers seeking easy access to Asia while growing the distribution of our offerings globally.”
Mr Jean-Pierre Bernard, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Singapore Branch said, "BNP Paribas is pleased to receive formal admission as a Derivatives Trading Member of Singapore Exchange. This membership marks a new milestone for our presence in Singapore. The addition of BNP Paribas brings the number of Trading Members in the derivatives market to 35. The derivatives market also has 37 Clearing Members. In addition, the securities market has 30 Trading Members and 29 Clearing Members.
