SGX share buybacks reached $22.4m last week

Share buybacks is a simplistic strategy that sees a share issuer repurchases some of its outstanding shares from shareholders through open market transactions.

For the second week of the month from 10 to 14 November, there were a total of 15,619,000 shares repurchased by 12 stocks with a total consideration of S$22.4 million.

According to SGX, this followed on from five companies repurchasing 4,186,000 shares with a total consideration of S$9.1 million in the preceding week. 

The five stocks with the largest consideration amount in buybacks last week were Genting Singapore PLC, OCBC, OSIM International, Sembcorp Industries and Lian Beng Group.
