
Singapore makes up more than 50% of ASEAN’s industrial conglomerates
Total market capitalisation is at $132.5b.
Singapore has seven stocks categorised as industrial conglomerates, diversified industrial companies with a degree of balance in business activities in three or more sectors.
According to SGX, 57% of ASEAN’s industrial conglomerate sector is made up of these seven stocks led by Jardine Matheson Holdings and Jardine Strategic Holdings. These two stocks are also the largest listed industrial conglomerates in the ASEAN region, which are followed in size by Malaysia’s Sime Darby, Singapore’s Keppel Corp and the Philippines’ SM Investments.
SGX adds that the total combined market capitalisation of ASEAN’s industrial conglomerates is $233b. With a combined market capitalisation of $132.5b, the seven relevant stocks in Singapore maintain 57% of the region’s industrial conglomerate sector.
The seven industrial conglomerates in Singapore are as follows: Bonvests Holdings, Jardine Matheson Holdings, Jardine Strategic Holdings, Hong Leong Asia, Sembcorp Industries, Keppel Corp, and Gallant Venture.
