
Temasek Trust appoints Jacqueline Wong as CEO
Ms Wong will help shape the institution as well as its strategic direction and its mission.
According to Temasek Trust, Ms Wong was until recently a senior partner with leading executive search firm Egon Zehnder International, where she was the Asia Pacific leader of their Financial Services Practice as well as the Global leader of their Sovereign Wealth Funds Practice.
A Yale graduate, Ms Wong also attended the Program for Management Development at Harvard. Previously an international corporate and investment banker with Manufacturers Hanover Trust (now JP Morgan Chase), and a senior Corporate Affairs and Communications executive with Hill and Knowlton and Whirlpool Corporation, she has lived and worked in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Commenting on the appointment, Temasek Trust Chairman Mr Lee Seng Wee said “Temasek Trust is committed to strategic and sustainable giving. With the increasing scope and diversity of our activities and philanthropic beneficiary platforms, the appointment of a CEO is timely. Jackie has the leadership, integrity, heart and strategic focus to help us in our mission. We are delighted to have her join us.”
The CEO will work closely with the Board of Trustees to uphold Temasek Trust’s role as an independent stakeholder in Temasek Holdings’ commitment to support the wider communities in Singapore, Asia and beyond through continued and sustainable contributions to community development. The CEO will help shape the institution as well as its strategic direction and its mission. She will build the institutional capabilities and resources necessary to ensure the Trust’s long term sustainability as a strong and responsible player and enabler in philanthropy, and to achieve maximum social impact for the Trust’s initiatives.
