SG-listed companies have the least effective codes of conduct globally: report

The codes of conduct of publicly-traded Singapore companies are the least effective when compared to listed companies in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan.
According to LRN’s report, Singapore’s Strait Times Index 30 (STI 30) received a 1.9 code effectiveness score on a scale of 1-5.
Companies in the STI 30 also received the lowest scores across all metrics of code effectiveness: Tone from the Top (1.8), Purpose & Values Orientation (1.6), Applicability & Administration (2.3), Speaking Up (2.0), Risk Topics (2.0), Knowledge Reinforcement (1.1), Usability (2.2), and Look & Feel (1.8).
The codes of companies in the U.S. S&P 100 outperformed all other indexes, scoring 3.0 out of 5.
