Global Indian International School bags award in Education Category at 4th SBR National Business Awards
The flagship SMART Campus of Global Indian International School (GIIS) clinched the award at the recently concluded National Business Awards held by Singapore Business Review.
The SBR awards, now in its fourth year, recognises the remarkable contributions of local firms to Southeast Asian economies through best practices.
GIIS was recognised for its outstanding contribution to education by providing high-quality learning within a technologically advanced campus at a moderate price. The esteemed panel of four judges selected the school on the basis of its multiple curricula offerings, its state-of-the-art campus and its sustainable design.
“We are thrilled to be recognised for our contribution in the field of education,” said GIIS chairman and co-founder Atul Temurnikar. “Our aim has always been to spread quality education to students leaving no one behind, and with our campuses in three Southeast Asian countries, we are well on our way to fulfilling our vision.”
As the school of the future, the GIIS SMART Campus operates as a new age school that is the need of the hour. With the aim to spread and replicate its ideas around the world, the campus works towards benefitting more students and moulding them into global citizens of the future.
Focused on producing well-rounded students, the GIIS SMART Campus does not only nourish its pupils academically. It also promotes sports as well as extracurricular and co-curricular activities necessary for the students’ holistic development.
These activities include special sports training as well as boot camps for innovation and entrepreneurship. The SMART Campus also has cultural centres for honing student talents and utilizes newer technologies for better learning.
The school offers international curricula, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme, IB Primary Years Programme and the Central Board of Secondary Education alongside its very own Global Montessori Plus programme, which combines the world-renowned Montessori programme with GIIS’s unique blend of early education techniques.
It emphasises on skills-based learning through more than 40 skills studios which give an added edge to our students’ overall performance in addition to providing excellent academic and sports results.
Each classroom is also equipped with teacher microphones and supported by the latest audio system to ensure students hear crystal clear sound across the entire classroom, regardless of their seating position.
Teachers and students can use their tablets or iPads for collaborative digital learning experience whilst projecting their displays on the two touchscreen SMART boards.
Besides this, the SMART Campus is built to have the smallest carbon footprint, thus promoting sustainability and great care towards the environment.
“Ours is a constant endeavour to give our students the best in academic and extracurricular excellence which is evident from our various initiatives that are aimed to maximise their learning outcomes, be it honing inherent talents through skills-based studios in our campus, or expanding learning beyond classrooms,” GIIS said in a statement.
