Hoffmann Quality Tools Asia Pacific Pte Ltd secures Machining and Tooling Award at 6th SBR International Business Awards

Hoffmann’s customers in the aviation industry use the GARANT ZeroClamp to aid them in reducing setup time by 95%.

Its GARANT ZeroClamp features the latest clamping technology, which can be used to increase productivity across various industries and processes, including milling, turning, spark erosion, measurement, grinding, and presetting.

Hoffmann Quality Tools Asia Pacific Pte Ltd bagged the Machining and Tooling Award during the recently concluded International Business Awards, thanks to the improved GARANT ZeroClamp.

Boasting suitability for all types of machines, GARANT ZeroClamp is an accurate clamping system for the metal working industry. It can be quickly and individually configured for all applications, making it the best way of setting up for production.

Due to the hollow shank taper principle used in the clamp, the elastic part of the taper of the chuck will be slightly expanded when retracting the clamping bolt, thus providing a perfect and highly accurate fit and repeatability of less than three microns.

Meanwhile, the clamp’s thermal expansion is compensated by acting always in relation to the centre axis, which allows the user to only use one type of clamping stud, unlike other systems that possess multiple bolt sizes. This warrants a great degree of freedom when arranging the clamping points and simplifies handling at all stages of production, thereby increasing manufacturing productivity.

If the measurement process shows that the component needs further machining, the component can be positioned on the machine quickly, precisely and with high repetition accuracy, be it for a small batch or a one-off item.

Moreover, only 5.5 bar of compressed air is necessary to release the clamping studs, locking it by spring pressure. Meanwhile, the centrepiece consists of only eight parts to deliver a reliable clamping force.

With GARANT ZeroClamp, long setup times are cut short and machine downtime is reduced. Customers can now also produce more components at lower unit cost.

Additionally, the said aviation companies also saw 70% boost in productivity in their manufacturing process alongside significant cost reduction, which allow them to be more efficient in other areas.

In addition to save money and time, the GARANT ZeroClamp also guarantees repetition accuracy, providing clean clamping points and efficient production. Because all forces act on the centre, this allows customers to achieve the highest level of precision during their manufacturing process.

The pneumatic operation also means that existing air lines can be utilised to power the system. GARANT ZeroClamp’s system can be used for milling, tuning, electrical discharge, machine grinding and measuring, amongst others. Additionally, the system can also be integrated into a machine table or modified base plate, which further minimises setup efforts.

Launched in the market ten years ago, the GARANT ZeroClamp is now well-established across the globe, with satisfied customers putting more than 75,000 clamping pots in use.
