New Singapore stamps to be launched on 16 October
To commemorate Singapore's trade history.
According to a release, SingPost will release a new stamp issue, Vanishing Trades Definitives on 16 October. They bear testimonies to growing and building of yesteryear Singapore and are part of the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
Vanishing trades depicted in this stamp issue are namely the Dairy Man (1st Local); the Beaded Slippers Maker (2nd Local); the Kachang Puteh Seller ($0.05); the Lantern Maker (S$0.20); the Songkok Maker (S$0.30); the Goldsmith (S$0.45); the Cobbler (S$0.50); the Knife Sharpener (S$0.55); the Ice-Ball Seller (S$0.65) and the Parrot Astrology (S$0.80). The complete set of 10 stamps will cost S$4.08.
