Chan Yeng Kit appointed CEO of SPH Media, exiting health role
He will begin his CEO duties on 15 July.
Permanent Secretary for Health Chan Yeng Kit will relinquish his post and move to SPH Media as CEO on 15 July.
Before he was appointed SPH Media CEO, Chan held roles in the Public Service Division (PSD), Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education.
He also served the National Trades Union Congress from 1991 to 1993 and the Suzhou Industrial Township Development from 1993 to 1994.
In 2005, Chan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the then-InfoComm Development Authority of Singapore. In 2008, he became Permanent Secretary of the former Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.
He was appointed as Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) in 2012 and subsequently as Permanent Secretary (Defence) in 2013. He has served as Permanent Secretary (Health) since 2019.
With Chan leaving his post, the PSD has appointed Lai Wei Lin as Permanent Secretary (Health) (designate). She will begin her duties on 1 July and will relinquish her appointments as Permanent Secretary (Transport Development) and Second Permanent Secretary (Finance) on the same date.
