Chart of the Day: OCBC SME Index expands for the fifth quarter in a row
This is despite contractions in the F&B, education, retail, and construction sectors.
This chart shows the OCBC SME Index, which expanded for the fifth quarter in a row in Q1, with a reading of 50.5.
A reading above 50 indicates improved SME activity, and a reading below 50 indicates a deterioration compared to the same period last year.
While the OCBC SME Index for Q1 was positive, it's lower than the 52.6 recorded in the previous quarter, due to contractions in the F&B, education, retail, and building & construction sectors. This was offset by growth in the wholesale trade, transport & logistics, manufacturing, ICT, and business services sectors.
