DBS names Ping An Tech’s Eugene Huang as bank CIO
Huang led a team of 22,000 employees in Ping An to provide IT offerings.
DBS has appointed Eugene Huang as its chief information officer (CIO) effective 10 May.
Huang, a veteran with over 36 years of technology and banking experience, will also be a member of the DBS Group executive committee. He reports to CEO Piyush Gupta.
He will take over the CIO role from Han Kwee Juan, who has been serving as both the acting CIO and Singapore country head since November 2023. Han will return full-time to being Singapore Country Head from 1 June.
Huang joins DBS from Ping An Group, where he led a team of 22,000 employees in providing IT offerings to all of Ping An’s businesses. During his time here, he was chairman and CEO of Ping An Technology, the tech arm of the group.

Prior to his latest role at Ping An Group, he was deputy general manager, chief technology officer and chief operating officer at OneConnect Financial Technology.
An American citizen, Huang spent nearly 10 years in New York with Salomon Smith Barney and Credit Suisse First Boston. He had also worked with Citi and HSBC before.
