Lawrence Wong has been sworn in as Singapore's new prime minister.
Wong is the first Singapore PM born after 1965, the nation's year of independence.
In his speech, Wong vowed to strengthen Singapore's partnerships "near and far" and advance the nation's interests.
Wong also vowed to help Singaporeans realise their dreams by building a vibrant economy for Singapore and creating "jobs for all."
"We will find new ways to be productive and innovative and achieve a better balance where work is purposeful, and life is meaningful. We will foster a fairer, more just and more equal society," the new PM said.
Wong said his team will also do more to look after the nation's seniors and all Singaporeans regardless of "their start points, age or ability."
The new PM encouraged Singaporeans to help the government build Singapore as a nation "where everyone succeeds in being the best possible versions of themselves."
"My fellow Singaporeans, I ask you to join me and my team in our journey forward. Everyone will have a stake in our nation’s progress. Everyone will play a key role in shaping our future," Wong said.
"Let us unite with common purpose and shared resolve. Let us take Singapore Forward – Together," he concluded.
