The public can express their views on the proposal on the REACH website.

Singapore is eyeing to raise its climate ambition to achieve net zero by 2050 and is seeking public opinion on the matter.

The National Climate Change Secretariat in the Strategy Group and the Prime Minister’s Office said the public can express their views on how Singapore can work towards becoming a low-carbon country.

In a bid to achieve its net-zero target by 2050,  Singapore said it is also mulling raising its 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). Interested parties can likewise comment on this proposal through public consultation.

“Feedback received will be taken into consideration when Singapore makes a formal revision to our Long-Term Low Emissions Development Strategy (LEDS) and 2030 NDC before the end of 2022,” the National Climate Change Secretariat said.

The consultation period began on 5 September and will close on 26 September. Individuals who would like to leave feedback may do so via go.gov.sg/reach-pc-climate-2022.
